About Us
About BCLEAP
BCLEAP is a professional association connecting administrative professionals working across law enforcement and public safety. Our members represent municipal police departments, RCMP detachments, police boards, government and justice agencies, and other organizations supporting the law enforcement community.
Through education, networking, resource sharing, and professional development, BCLEAP creates opportunities for members to connect, learn from one another, and build meaningful professional relationships.
Our Vision
Law enforcement leadership (em)powered by administrative professionals
Our Mission
BCLEAP provides an essential network of professional growth opportunities to strengthen the impact of administrative professionals within the law enforcement community
Our History
- 2018
First Conference
A small group of us decided to gather for a couple of days in Whistler, BC to finally meet in person, and share our knowledge and expertise with each other. We invited guest speakers to present on topical subjects and provide practical guidance and solutions to our common challenges. This little conference was very well received and inspired us to make it an annual event.
- 2023
Formation of BCLEAP
After the pandemic restrictions were lifted, a new and robust executive committee was formed and BCLEAP was established. Our very successful inaugural conference took place in North Vancouver, BC in May 2023.
About Our Logo
The BCLEAP logo was designed by Collette Thomson of Victoria Police to reflect the unique role of administrative professionals within the law enforcement community. The overlapping circles represent connection and were inspired by the theme of BCLEAP’s first conference: “Balancing Act.” Administrative professionals balance many responsibilities at once, while remaining connected to colleagues, organizations, and the broader law enforcement community.
The combination of cool and warm colors represents that same balance. Cool tones reflect the professionalism and composure required in challenging environments, while warm tones represent compassion, understanding and support administrative professionals bring to their interactions with officers, staff, colleagues, and the public.
Meet Our Board
Our Executive Board brings together experienced administrative professionals who are passionate about supporting BCLEAP and the law enforcement community. With diverse experience and perspectives, our Board works collaboratively to guide the organization, create meaningful opportunities for members, and advance BCLEAP’s mission.
